Big problem...!22-07-2004The tourdates for Europe were announced on www.remhq.com today, but they are all in January and February. And my life has taken a turn some time ago... I will be in Canada from 30-12-2004 until 17-05-2004 to study at the Carleton University (Ottawa). So I won't be in Europe in the months that R.E.M. is touring here... (even worse for me: I will miss ALL shows, also those in Canada, which are before I will go).
The question is now: what to do with the whole fantour idea? People keep mailing me with questions about it: is it still happening? Can you add me to the list? Etc. Well... I won't be able to go... :(
So there are two options now:
1: Its a no go...
2: Somebody else has to take over the idea and organise everything...So... is there anyone who wants to take over? If so, please e-mail me: rem@ipimuu.org.
If not: I wish everybody lots of fun with the shows and the new album. At least I will get to hear that one...
Couldn't R.E.M. have planned their tour after my trip to Canada!? :)
Well... *sigh*... I would really have liked to meet you all.. Would be so great, people from all over the world that go out together to see R.E.M... Last year when I saw six shows it was so great! I met people from Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, the USA, etc. etc... It deserved more... I really hope someone will take up the idea and go on with it. I have 112 mailaddresses from interested people... So the idea really is good!
If there are any people from Canada (or close to it) on the list who would like to meet up when I'm there next year, let me know! :)

Wow, no updates since last year... Sorry... Well, I didn't forget you, or the idea. And since rumours are starting to grow that R.E.M. will start a new (world) tour soon, I thought it was about time I updated this website. Just to let you know: the idea is still alive... I've put everyting in a special folder, just didn't have time to update it. :)
Hi, there haven't been many updates since august, but that's not because I forgot about all this, but just because I have been very busy with work and study. Stuff like that. I've updated the list of people who want to come and I've mailed all those people and other interested people the second e-mail to let them know I'm still alive, and so is the plan. Just one minor setback: where a few months ago people from R.E.M. were telling that a new European tour would start somewhere in summer/fall 2004, the news now is '2005'. Nothing is sure yet however, only THAT they will tour. We will patiently await more news!19-08-2003Meanwhile we are being kept quiet with In Time (which I got hold of about a week ago), the video for Bad Day, some interviews, etc... We'll live... won't we? :)

Here a little extra, some photos from the Italian REM fanclub. One with the flag, the other with Raingi and Michael holding it!
The site has been up for only two days, and we already have 233 visitors from 15 different countries. Also the e-maillist is groing. From 50 to 56 in 1 day. Keep it coming :)30-07-2003(4 hours later): make that 292 visitors from 27 countries :)
